To our friends in the community,
As a long standing member of the board of the WNC Jewish Federation, I often think about how important our annual campaign is to the health of our Jewish Community. Whether I’m witnessing the fun the kids are having at Camp Ruach at the JCC, or attending a lecture sponsored by The Center for Jewish Studies, or volunteering at the Elder Day Club at Jewish Family Services, I can’t help but think how fortunate we are in Asheville, to have these organizations that enrich our Jewish lives.
So, it’s fitting that our WNC Jewish Federation’s 81st Annual Community Campaign theme is “We Make Jewish Asheville Thrive,” to reflect the importance of each gift in supporting our thriving Jewish community. We also welcome your support of Israel and Jews throughout the world, with your gifts to the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA). JFNA has supported Jews through every war and crisis and the aftermath, providing physical, psychological and humanitarian relief.
As always, we rely on our fellow Jews to ensure a strong Jewish identity and provide meaningful assistance to Jewish families and individuals, here and abroad.
There will not be a Women’s Philanthropy Campaign this year. We hope that you will take this into consideration when you determine your total family gift to the Annual Campaign.
You can go to our donate page to see the list of the agencies and funds that will receive WNCJF monies in 2017. When you select one or more of these agencies, you can be sure that your gift will be allocated exactly as you wish. If you prefer, you can always select the “General Fund” and your gift will be distributed based on the needs identified by the beneficiary agencies during our allocation process.
On behalf of the beneficiary organizations, the WNCJF Board, our donor-volunteers, and the entire Jewish community of WNC, thank you for speaking out, thank you for considering a gift to the 2017 campaign, and thank you for caring. It is because of you that our ‘shtetel in the mountains’ continues to grow and thrive.
